Successful entrepreneurs are not chosen because of our abilities. We just persevere. The opportunity for entrepreneurship is available for everyone.

If you find yourself walking in the same direction as everyone else, it’s time to change directions and march in the opposite direction. Entrepreneurs stand up and question the establish rules. They go against the norm.

You have to P.A.T. people (Polarize, Entertain, Teach). You have to stand for something. You have to give good content that is educational and what your audience can use right away. That’s what matters.

There’s no one rule that applies to everything. Think for yourself and don’t just do what others are telling you. Do what works for you. It’s about how you show up. Be a leader and not a follower.

What does BRAVE mean?

Brave is experiencing whatever emotions you experience; taking the next despite these emotions (what’s the worst that can happen?) Make a choice rather than just react. Our responsibility it to become aware of how we react and choose to respond. Step into the brave.

A dream is just a dream. If there is ACTION then it becomes reality. You need to move to have your dream - that's what matters.

The more clearer and vivid is the vision that we have for ourselves and our future - then the more we can go forward.

You have to put your resources into a business. Sometimes we have to re-prioritize so the business has a chance. We can then appreciate more what we are working on.

It doesn't matter your field or your purpose. What's important is that you own it and know that there is a target audience for whatever you have to offer. Stop making your audience wait.
What does BRAVE mean?

Brave is admitting who you were and where you are now; that you changed. Change is required to move forward. Owning who you are.

You have to know what you want and say it out loud. It doesn’t matter what others think – it’s about YOU being accountable to yourself and your word.

Choose the right people to be around – those who will build you up, will support you in your mission and encourage you to stay the course even in the face of adversity. Keep in mind that some people are only meant to be in your life for a season or for a reason and not forever.

Fear is lack of information. When you start to feel the positive anxiety, write it down. Then go on a search and ask the questions, do the research. Then once you have the information – you can make an informed decision.

What does BRAVE mean?

Brave is staying true to your mission. You need to stay focused on the work you need to do, keep the right people around you and keep going.

Show Highlights

When you are closed, it won’t happen. When you have an open mind to what can happen, you will win. The only part of failure is not trying something that can make you more successful. I failed is more powerful than “What if”

A big part of being an entrepreneur is not being desperate. When you force your business to grow too fast, you will kill it.  You will make decisions not right for the brand. Take your time, start slow and price your items for growth.

Tell people your story. People want to connect with the person who they buy from – communique who you are. Your brand is who you are; no one can replicate it – you are unique.

What does BRAVE mean?

Brave is being authentic. Show up and let people know who you are. Share that part of your story that is not so pretty. People know when something is genuine as opposed to being sold.

Shontaye conquered her fear and ran a half marathon. Her lesson to you - You are not alone. Whatever race you are running, there are thousands of other people out there running the same race.

"If someone else has done it, it must be doable." Thus, you can do it too. You just have to figure out the steps and create a plan to follow the steps. As a beginner runner, Shontaye figured out the steps and created a plan; she got the running schedules for beginners, got the running shoes, got the trainer. The same method can go to someone starting a business. Figure out the tools and then go do it; stop getting ready and just start.

It might appear to be impossible, but you create possible out of it.

Running a business is a marathon not a quick sprint. You stay in the game; you keep making the sales calls. Just like running a marathon, business success doesn't happen overnight. You keep at it, and then you achieve the success you want.

You have to keep showing up: doing the speaking engagements, doing the sales calls - even if you are afraid. It is the same with a marathon. You just have to keep at it, keep showing up and then you win. The on-going commitment is what matters. Plant the seeds as you don't know which one is going to pop.
What does BRAVERY mean?

Bravery is willing to be uncomfortable. If you are going to go out there, you can't be concerned with what other people are going to say. It will keep you from growing your business.

In her first year as a business coach, Odette lost her love relationship, both her parents passed away and she woke up one morning paralyzed in her arms. She couldn’t move them properly for more than a year.

Show Highlights

What do you want? If you don’t know how to answer, start with what do you NOT want and go from there – it will motivate you to go in the opposite direction until you get your answer.

Everything we have in this world today is because someone took a chance. We need to keep moving until we succeed. Get clear on what you need and stay on course.

The more we are willing to be the student – then the more we can teach in a much more powerful way. You need to have mentorship and support when having a business.

People have this idea, you just conquer fear and on the other side is heaven. But when you conquer your fear there is another level of fear. You are constantly conquering your fears – which are good as that’s the only way you grow. You don’t get over your fear as if you did you would stop trying.

You need to clean the emotional past closet. Clean the clutter, dig deep and face the past junk. Move past the feelings as opposed to moving around them. People don’t want to feel fear and they do everything to avoid it. Instead we need to go through it and get it out of our system.

What does BRAVERY mean?

Bravery is when you know what you want and you are willing to sacrifice whatever you need to sacrifice to get it and are willing to step into it.

Nancy Rae’s early life was scattered with grooming events. As a result of her tenacity and introspection these experiences shaped her into a powerful force for good. Nancy Rae is an expert in re-framing tragic life experiences into magnificent gifts for transformation.

Show Highlights – Nancy’s advice to you

Lack of confidence and not fear is what holds us back.

If everybody agrees with what you are doing, you must be doing something wrong. You cannot please everybody and you have to be unique. You have to show up, stand up and go above the need to be liked.

It’s not that more successful people are braver than everyone else; it’s that they are braver more than everyone else for 8 seconds more in a day. The 2 seconds to dial the phone, the 2 seconds to step onto the platform. That’s the bravery you need.

Bravery is full accountability and ownership. Take a look inside you and ask yourself what part did I play?

Gene Hammett helps business owners define their market, lead their market and own their market.  On his podcast, Leaders in the Trenches, he has interviewed hundreds of leaders and NY Times best-selling authors. Gene is honored to have shared the platform with legend, Jack Canfield and been featured in Forbes, NBC, and Huffington Post.  Gene is also a regular contributor to Entrepreneur.com.

Show Highlights – Gene’s advice to you

  • A lot of people are not willing to marshal their bravery to go after what they want as they are complacent. If you are just going along but want something else and not willing to give up what you have, it is because you don’t have the bravery to do it.
  • Not sure what path to take, be CALM – Clarify vision, Access the opportunities (instead of doing what used to doing, what other options are available), Launch into action, Measure success so know on track.
  • A lot of times people don’t think big enough. They got caught up in what they think is attainable because they have a belief structure and comfort zone that does not allow them to see bigger. Go for bigger and not just what is possible. Spend a little more time looking at possibility; it allows you to structure the next steps.

She is a top 25 Marketing/Public Relations Firm in Houston and the author of several books, including the Do It Yourself PR Guide and Soar 2 Success in Marketing: 58 Tips to Getting the Word out and Growing your Business. Sandy also has a chapter in the International Bestseller, Share Your Message with the World.

Show Highlights – Sandy’s advice to you

  • Don’t do it all alone. You need to surround yourself with a community of like-minded people who understand what you are about.
  • An entrepreneur has to be willing to acknowledge that although they wear many hats, they are not the best at everything. They need to bring in the person who is the most qualified for areas they need assistance.
  • We can’t see how it is all going to turn out. Take the next inspired step. Approach your goals one decision at a time. Just get off the fence and take the next step.

What does BRAVERY mean?

Nothing exciting happens in the comfort zone. If you are going to reach the unknown and be brave, you have to leave the comfort zone and go to a world of meeting many people, learning a lot and investing more. You move forward before you start to help all the people you are meant to help. You need to take the first step and be BRAVE.

Join my podcast with Patty Farmer. Patty Farmer is a multi-award winning Marketing and Social Media Strategist, International Speaker, Trainer, Radio Host and Best-Selling Author.

Patty has created a network of 100,000 + connections while teaching thousands of entrepreneurs, coaches, speakers and authors how to effectively build their online and offline communities, create profitable joint ventures and build a large and responsive e-mail list using a non-competitive and dynamic collaboration strategy.

Listen in for Patty's advice.

Be true to yourself. Get away from the noise and don’t just listen to what others are telling you. Sometimes you have to listen to your gut and do it your way.

Ask why you are running towards something. With fear, don’t just ask why you are running from it, but ask why you are running towards it. Examine why you are in the game and you might discover the reason for your fear.

Your coach is there to tell you to “Get It Done”. They need to call you on it. Your coach is not your counselor giving you months to figure it out – they need to call you on it now.

Know your why. You need to know your why to drive you to do those things you want to do and the things you don’t want to do. We all have a different why; no one’s why is any more or less important. However, you need to know your why to keep going.

What does BRAVERY mean?

Bravery means you want it so bad and even though you are scared – you will do it anyway.

In 2002, Minette launched a parenting magazine and it took off really fast. Minette could not get her arms around it – she was making large amounts of revenue but not profiting from it. The business was running like an expensive hobby.

Minette knew she was in the wrong business and living in the wrong place. Listen in as Minette shares how she found her BRAVE and decided to change direction in her professional and personal life.

For Minette, BRAVE means doing the right things. Not just courage but integrity; following the right path even when the path is hard. Minette took a leap and got rid of the what ifs. She knew it was the right thing to do and moved to California and started a new business.

Lisa Rehurek left the corporate world to venture out on her own and start a business. Lisa did not have a business role model and was not sure what the future would be.

Lisa discovered her BRAVEST moments along the journey. She learned to maneuver through the emotions and the fear. Part of the journey is the navigation and Lisa discovered how to stay on course and come out on top.

Lisa also learned that being BRAVE means to just be who you are and you will attract the right people; the people who you want to work with will find you. You don’t need to pretend to be someone else - just be yourself. Follow your own yellow brick road.

Listen in and learn Lisa’s method to conquer the fear. Take note of the questions that Lisa developed:

1 – Where is the fear coming from? What story are you telling yourself?
2 – What is the worst that can happen?
3 – What is the best that can happen? Will you be satisfied if you don’t push through the fear?

By working through these questions, we can get a plan and take the steps forward to our SUCCESS.

Yvonne left the corporate world, was adopting a daughter and was wondering if she should go back to her full time job. Her BRAVE moment came when she decided not to go back and start her own business as a Virtual Assistant.

In the initial phase of launching her business, Yvonne stayed BRAVE and held onto the positive things, the end results. Sometimes you have to change the navigation and learn from your mistakes. Focus on the positive and the vision – to get through every fearful situation.

Yvonne was always the YES person; a true Yesaholic in her personal and professional life. Being a Yesaholic made her a workaholic.

Yvonne decided you cannot do everything and one of the BRAVEST things she did was hire a Virtual Assistant. Yvonne learned you can now be a Yesaholic instead of a workaholic.

Yvonne is a Virtual Assistant Matchmaker – make sure to listen in to hear about her valuable service to entrepreneurs.

Most small business entrepreneurs don’t know how to delegate tasks and monitor them. We don’t know how to do a thorough search to hire the right VA. What does this person really need to look like – there are more than just skills to look for. Yvonne created a model for finding the right VA based on the nitty gritty of what you need as a business owner. What you think should be delegated to a Virtual Assistant and what really should be are often two completely different things. As the Virtual Assistant Matchmaker, Yvonne helps you decipher the difference and find ways to get the biggest return on your Virtual Assistant investment.

To start with a new VA, you would only need to hire one for 5 hours a month. If you feel it is too much of an expensive, consider the following:

If you could just get an extra hour of week, what would that do for your business? Perhaps close a new deal? What are you going to do with the time to get the return? If you get a VA – it will let you focus on a money generating activity; imagine what will happen to your business. What would be the ROI?

Make sure to go to Yvonne’s website at http://YvonneWeld.com and get her FREE report “How a Virtual Assistant Can Make You More Money”. Get ready to set up your support team and build a thriving business!
